Jordi
Another beautiful day in El Bruc.
Lunch was long over and the town folk were beginning to stir from their rest. Jordi decided to take his tractor up to one of his fields higher up the slope. Passing his olive grove he spotted a man he didn’t know resting under the shade of the trees. He waved congenially to the bearded stranger. “La Llar,” he whispered to himself.
On his return journey 45 minutes later
Jordi saw the man stirring from his rest. The sound of the tractor had surely
woken him. They exchanged a wave once again.
Jordi thought again of La Llar. He hoped the stranger had tasted the
Mongetes del ganxet estofades, the Espinacas a la catalane, and the Sardineta. It was apparent he had enjoyed sufficient
wine. Had he also tasted the Mel i mato,
perhaps with a good caffe?
Jordi was sorry he had woken the stranger but
smiled to himself. The ever- changing
lunch menu at La Llar would be available again tomorrow. Jordi hoped that
the stranger had friends and loved ones to share a table. The contented smile
on the man’s face suggested this was so.
Sounds like the stranger is having a divine time living la vida loca.
