Last Friday, 6 Sept 13, was the opening of the group show 31 Days: Blur the lines. The link will take you to opening night photographs.
A big thanks goes to Curator Liz McCrystal. She did a fabulous job hanging the show. It really looks great.
Here is my Artist Statement from the show.

It is said a child is born a blank slate.I'm
not sure I believe that. There is so much we impart and/or inflict on our
children before they are even born.
My current work explores the imprinting of cultural traditions, beliefs,
attitudes and values on children. Expressing the psychological through the
physical. My work is informed by traditions of story telling through tapestry,
embroidery, rug making, tattoo and body art.
In 31 DAYS: BLUR THE LINES I have pondered how cultural imprinting has
shaped the way I see the world. I
have found that introspection is a tricky business. Imprinting is full of
misdirection and slight of hand.
